The Fisheries Atlas provides communities with a platform to develop and validate reliable services for fisheries related data. This VRE is not for browsing, but for developing Atlases, and can only be used by community members. The results are published in interactive Fisheries Atlases powered by Blue Cloud. Examples of results include FIRMS products such as the Global Tuna Atlas (accessible through the FAO site here: https://www.fao.org/fishery/geoserver/tunaatlas/ ) and the Global Record of Stocks and Fisheries (accessible here: https://i-marine.d4science.org/web/grsf/map-viewer ). This VRE is a ?work in progress? that provides the tools to develop a harmonized overview of fisheries statistics. In Blue Cloud the aim is to combine fisheries data with selected datasets disseminated according to FAIR principles in the Blue Cloud. Based on international standard formats and protocols for geographic information management (ISO, OGC) this can show relations between fisheries and Essential Ocean variables such as Sea Surface Temperatures, HAB?s or species distributions. The focus of the Atlas is on scientific monitoring. But using standards-based Blue Cloud services if and when these become available, the Atlas will increasingly include products from the Blue Cloud Data and Access Services and the other Demonstrators to add more environmental perspective. The Fisheries Atlas thus has potential to show trends in towards achieving the SDG's.
