This Virtual Research Environment (VRE) supports FAO capacity development efforts in support of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Indicator 14.4.1 - Proportion of fish stocks within biologically sustainable levels led by Dr Rishi SHARMA and Dr Anne-Elise NIEBLAS, FAO. This VRE is part of FAO's initiative to support countries in the process of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by raising awareness and providing technical training. The VRE hosts the Stock Monitoring Tool, an Rshiny training tool for data-limited stock monitoring methods, including Length-Based Indicators (LBI), Length-Based Spawning Potential Ratio (LBSPR), TropFishR (Elefan and Yield per Recruit methods), and Catch-MSY (CMSY). The VRE supports dedicated training workshops in stock assessment and monitoring, as well as the online SDG 14.4.1 eLearning course (https://elearning.fao.org/course/view.php?id=502). With over 900 users from more than 100 countries, the FAO SDG 14.4.1 VRE community stands as a thriving global network of fisheries scientists, bringing together diverse expertise and perspectives.
