The main purpose of this Virtual Research Environment is to provide GSRF editors with an environment and the tools for accessing stocks and fisheries records, validate them, and approve. When approved, the records will become available in the GSRF VRE. To this end a registry containing such information is made available, the Global Record of Stocks and Fisheries (GRFS) integrates data from three authoritative sources: FIRMS (Fisheries and Resources Monitoring System), RAM (RAM Legacy Stock Assessment Database) and FishSource (Program of the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership).
