The MEGit is the online virtual research environment of the Molecular Ecology Group of the CNR-IRSA Verbania (Italy). It is specifically designed to offer a dynamic space where to keep the data produced in our researches, either from field or laboratory based studies or from meta-analyses. Focus of the MEG is theoretical and experimental ecology, ecological interactions, systematics and biotech applications. Our main research projects deal with antimicrobial resistance in the environment and in human settings, the microbiological role of microplastic particles, the restoration of human disturbed aquatic environment, and the design of novel water treatment technologies for the production of water for reuse. The MEGit is an online service with a dedicated web interface to collect metagenomic data, atmospherical and meteorological data, microbiological analyses and chemical dataset on our study systems. A dedicated part with R scripts and other dedicated software and commands is open.
