The Blue-Cloud Hackathon 2026 is a collaborative event inviting scientists, researchers, and innovators to explore the open science ecosystem developed by the Blue-Cloud project. It?s your chance to design and test data-driven workflows using the platform?s Virtual Labs, Workbenches, and analytical tools to extract insights from diverse marine datasets. You?ll gain hands-on experience with Blue-Cloud?s services to build innovative applications, test the platform?s capabilities, and help shape its future. By exploring real user needs and identifying areas for improvement, you?ll contribute directly to enhancing the Blue-Cloud ecosystem while advancing open, collaborative marine science. What will you work on? Teams will develop novel applications or workflows using Blue-Cloud tools and services to respond to one of four core challenges: Challenge 1: Mapping & Understanding Marine Ecosystems and Species Challenge 2: Supporting Early Warning & Response to Accidents or Natural Events Challenge 3: Tracking & Forecasting Ocean Health Challenge 4: Wild Card: Double up with EDITO! All teams must leverage resources from at least two Virtual Labs or Workbenches, and incorporate Blue-Cloud and, where applicable, EDITO components into their solutions.
