D4Science 3rd Technical Committee meeting in Greece

The 3rd Technical Committee (TCom) meeting took place the last week of May 2008 on the beautiful island of Santorini in Greece.

A D4Science TCom event is a face-to-face meeting mainly dedicated to collectively address the technical issues arising along the project course and define a concrete plan to properly address them. It is open and flexible, i.e. besides technical partners the whole consortium is potentially invited to attend dependent on the topics to be discussed.

This TCom event mainly focused on the forthcoming first release of the D4Science Infrastructure (June 2008). It consisted of 16 (110 minutes each) slots some of them occurring in parallel, and discussing the following topics:

• gCore releases and beyond;
• gCube services status and future work;
• Service Activity status and plan;
• User requirements specification, refinement and management;
• Application Support Layer introduction and training.

Jointly with the TCom event, a Project Executive Board (PEB) meeting took place. During this meeting the current activities and status of each work package were presented since the project began 5 months ago.

9 out of 11 participating organisations joined the event with a full total of 24 persons in attendance.
